Wedding Video Jobs
The art and craft of capturing wedding ceremonies and reception on video. This is perhaps one of the easiest videography jobs to break into and it is also one of the few career fields that will continue to grow as long as people continue to get married. If you are interested in this field, pick up your video camera and network with friends, family or in your professional circles to see if anyone is interested in wedding video.
Oftentimes, you will find that most clients are interested in a combination of wedding photography and videography and your equipment will reflect this. There are a few high-level digital single-lens reflex cameras that are capable of taking quality stills and video.
Wedding videography jobs do not require a formal education, although some coursework in video editing, lighting and production will be helpful. Instead, wedding videography jobs require experience and a strong demo reel and this comes through experience and networking to get more clients. Since most wedding videographers work as sole proprietors of their own companies, your responsibilities will include everything from liaising with the client on location, budget and lighting options, to editing and distributing the final product.
If you want to be successful in this field, you will need to be familiar with all phases of video production.
