The world boasts thousands of ski resorts and ski areas in over 60 countries. Some are massive destination resorts, others are community run cable cars or lift tows, and some join interconnected mountainous regions. All of them cater to the ski industry.

The world is a big place and it is always winter somewhere. Seasonal winter ski jobs can be ideal. The truly passionate can turn skiing into a viable career, while chasing the endless winter, traveling the world, skiing everyday, and making contacts all over the globe.

The Northern Hemisphere ski season typically runs from November to April and the Southern Hemisphere ski season last from June to October making for about 10 months of fun. Depending on where you are and how much snow there is, some seasons will vary from this.

Ski resorts hire people in mass. North of the Equator, hiring usually begins in September, while hiring for the Southern Hemisphere takes place in February or March. Many ski resorts operate year round. After the snow melts, the summer season can be as busy as the winter creating many year round jobs.

Seasonal work can be a solid way to build a resume, while providing a cultural, international work adventure. Often a bit of experience is required to land a sponsored work visa, but entry-level jobs are still options for those who can find their own work visas.
