Sundance, Cannes, & Berlin Film Festival Jobs
Sundance Film Festival
The Sundance Film Festival, which takes place for 10 days every January, is a world famous film festival that takes place each year in Park City, Utah. Sundance is consistently the largest independent film festival in the world and is commonly attended by thousands of fans and hundreds of famous actors and producers. For more information about films, scheduling, tickets and accommodations in Park City, check out the official Sundance Film Festival webpage.
Sundance Film Festival Jobs
While there are some full-time jobs that are available in planning the Sundance Film Festival, the majority of positions are contract or temporary jobs. Most of the jobs listings will be available in late summer, early fall.
Take note – if this all sounds pretty ideal to you then go to the movie industry jobs section of JobMonkey and find out how to become involved in the movie industry on a more permanent basis.
Sundance Film Festival Volunteer Opportunities
Over 1,200 volunteers are needed each year for help with the festival. Volunteers must be over the age of 21 and be willing to dedicate 24 hours to work with the festival (about 3-6 shifts). Over 2,000 people apply, so applying early will greatly increase your chances of working at the festival. Applications will be accepted in the fall. For more information about becoming a volunteer at the Sundance Film Festival, see the volunteers section of their website.
Cannes Film Festival
The Cannes Film Festival is held each spring in Cannes, France. It is notably one of the most prestigious and famous film festivals in the world with attendance from fans, actors, actresses, directors and world famous producers from all over the world. For information regarding films, film submissions, accommodations, travel and tickets, please see the Cannes Film Festival website.
Cannes Film Festival Jobs
Cannes receives financial support from the French Government and works directly with corporate sponsors to staff and pay for the festival, so very little information is given about finding work. It is suggested that working for a partner of the festival is the best way to find employment through Cannes.
Cannes Film Festival Volunteers
The American Pavilion offers internships for film students from around the world. Additional information can be accessed through the American Pavilion website.
Berlin Film Festival
The Berlin Film Festival is yet another of the world’s prestigious film festivals. It is held for 10 days, each February, in Berlin, Germany. For information regarding films, submissions, tickets, and travel see the Berlin Film Festival, or Berlinale official webpage.
Very little information regarding volunteering and work is available for the festival. Film students who want to work for the Berlinale Talent Campus, an event that requires volunteers and showcases student films, can apply.
