Boyd Gaming Corporation Jobs
In the tradition of its rivals, MGM Mirage and Wynn Resorts, a new key acquisition, The Coast Casinos, cements the position of Boyd’s Gaming Corporation position as a premier provider of local entertainment.
The Las Vegas-based company is engaged in the development, ownership and operation of hotels and casinos throughout the United States. Boyd owns 16 casino properties operating in Nevada, New Jersey, Mississippi, Louisiana, Indiana and Illinois.
In addition to co-managing the luxurious Borgatta in Atlantic City, the company is also anticipating the opening of a $4 billion Echelon Place project on the Las Vegas Strip. The company was founded by Sam Boyd, who arrived in Las Vegas on Labor Day, 1941 with just 80 dollars in his pocket and worked his way up through the ranks until he had saved enough money to buy an interest in the world-renowned Sahara Hotel. He then moved on to become general manager and partner at The Mint in downtown Las Vegas, where he introduced a number of successful marketing, gaming and entertainment innovations. Committed to integrity and excellence, these two principles transformed the company into a multi-million dollar gambling and entertainment empire. The company is currently owned and operated by Sam’s son, Bill Boyd, who until 1973 was a practicing attorney for more than 15 years. In 1975, the Boyds created a third major gaming area in Las Vegas known today as the Boulder Strip.
