Hotels in Hungary
Unless money is no object or unless there are no reasonable alternatives, you probably don’t want to stay in a hotel in Budapest.
Cheap hotels in Budapest generally cost upward of US$25 per night for a single room. It is possible to find inexpensive hotel lodging in other towns and cities for the equivalent of US$15 to $25 per night. In Hungary, hotels are rated on a five-star system, with one being the least expensive and least luxurious.
When you make reservations or check in, be sure to communicate how many nights you plan to stay. If you are vague, you might find yourself getting kicked out, so that the hotel can make room for an incoming group with definite reservations. The national travel and tourist agency Ibusz has locations in Budapest (see the tourist information offices listings above) that can provide information and make reservations for you in most hotels 24 hours a day.
