Full-Time vs. Freelance Teaching Jobs in the Czech Republic and Slovakia
In the Czech and Slovak Republics, freelance tutoring is a great way to add some variety to your teaching schedule.
Freelancing also provides some financial incentive to teach a few hours per week in addition to your full-time position. It is rare, however, for expats to teach exclusively on a freelance basis because it’s more appealing in theory than in practice. Coordinating your lessons so you don’t have to run all over town while staying abreast of each student’s progress is no easy feat. The structure inherent in an in-school job frees you to concentrate on teaching. It’s the school’s job to manage the students and coordinate classes.
