Northern Region Ski Resort Jobs

If you’ve never been skiing in the northern region of the United States, you have to go and check it out. Scenic vistas, few crowds, and mind-boggling terrain makes this region a must visit destination.

Working at any of ski resorts in this area will be a life changing experience. Just be ready to fall in love with the mountains, the lifestyle, and the job.

The Northern Region includes Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. These massive states are home to some of the best skiing and snowboarding in the country. They have several top-notch resorts that appeal to both locals and destination travelers. It’s easy to thrive in the beautiful mountain environment and challenge yourself on the steep, epic terrain found in this region.

There are over 40 resorts located in these three states. There are extreme skiing meccas like Jackson Hole, local hot spots like Bridger Bowl, private ski resorts like Yellowstone Club, celebrity vacation hot spots like Sun Valley, new spots like Moonlight Basin, and everything in between. No matter what type of skier or snowboarder you are, you’ll find a ski area here that you’ll fall in love with.

Idaho

  • Bogus Basin This quiet resort is located outside of Boise. It has a large ski school and solid local following.
  • Brundage Mountain Lift access and snowcat skiing make this family friendly mountain a sweet place to land a job.
  • Schweitzer Mountain Located in northern Idaho near outdoor dreamland Sandpoint, Schweitzer is a cool mountain with a few crowds, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not packed full of great terrain, cat-skiing, and amazing views.
  • Silver Mountain This growing regional destination resort is a cool place to work.
  • Sun Valley One of the oldest destination resorts in the United States, Sun Valley is Idaho’s skiing paradise. It’s also a hot spot for celebrities who want to wine and dine in this first rate ski area.

Montana

  • Big Mountain aka Whitefish Resort Just down the road from Glacier National Park near Kalispell, Whitefish Mountain Resort (formerly known as Big Mountain) is an up and coming ski area. The crowds are small and enthusiastic. The mountain is “Big.”
  • Big Sky Big Sky claims to have The Biggest Skiing in North America. Along with huge vertical and vast acreage, Big Sky also boasts some seriously extreme skiing. Positioned between Yellowstone Club and Moonlight Basin, and on the road between Yellowstone National Park and Bozeman, Big Sky is in the perfect location.
  • Bridger Bowl A local’s paradise, Bridger is just outside Bozeman and offers some of the best in-bounds skiing anywhere. It’s definitely worth spending a season working at this place.
  • Yellowstone Club – The only privately owned ski resort in the United States is a great place to work and schmooze with the wealthy of the world. Surprisingly great skiing, perfect snow, and on your days off you get to ski at Big Sky.

Wyoming

  • Grand Targhee With over 500 inches of annual snowfall, Grand Targhee is famous for spectacular snow, an authentic western atmosphere, and remarkable employees.
  • Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Jackson is a year round jumping off point for National Parks, fly fishing, outdoor recreation, and of course epic skiing. Jackson Hole is in the credits of almost every ski movie because of it’s huge vertical, sidecountry, and intimidating terrain. Spend a season or a lifetime… the skiing here never gets old.
