What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It
We collect several types of information from and about users of the Site and the products and services of JobMonkey (collectively, the “Services”), including:
- Information by which you can be personally identified, such as your name, physical address, e-mail address, and phone number (“Personal Information“). The specific Personal Information that we collect depends on the type of Services that you may be using; and
- Information, which does not identify you (“Technical Information“). We collect this Technical Information:
- directly from you when you provide it to us;
- automatically as you navigate through the Site (e.g., usage details); and
- from third parties, for example, our partners
Information You Provide
We may collect and store any personal information you enter on our Site or provide to us in some other manner, including personal information when signing up for an account, filling out a form, signing up for newsletters or job alerts, or paying for a service (such as job postings). This includes identifying information, such as your name, address, email address, and telephone number; your likeness; and, if you transact business with us, financial information such as your payment method (valid credit card number, type, expiration date, or other financial information).
Log Files
As with most other websites, we collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files includes your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as Comcast or CenturyLink), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge), the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout the Site.
Cookies and Web Beacons
We do use cookies to store information, such as your personal preferences when you visit our Site. This could include only showing you a popup once in your visit, or the ability to login to some of our features, such as forums.
We also use third-party advertisements to support our Site. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our Site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed. This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing California real estate ads to someone in California, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).
We also use tracking pixels (i.e. Google Analytics) to aid in measuring and tracking where our website traffic is coming from and to track the performance of our site. Finally, we use remarking pixels from Facebook and Google to aid in customized, targeted follow-up advertising. You may opt-out of the collection and use of information for ad targeting by going to https://optout.aboutads.info/ and you can learn about and use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on by going to https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/.
Google Ad cookies (AKA DoubleClick DART Cookies)
We also may use DART cookies for ad serving through Google’s DoubleClick, which places a cookie on your computer when you are browsing the web and visit a site using DoubleClick advertising (including some Google AdSense advertisements). This cookie is used to serve ads specific to you and your interests (” interest-based targeting”). The ads served will be targeted based on your previous browsing history (For example, if you have been viewing sites about visiting Las Vegas, you may see Las Vegas hotel advertisements when viewing a non-related site, such as on a site about hockey). DART uses “non personally identifiable information”. It does NOT track personal information about you, such as your name, email address, physical address, telephone number, social security numbers, bank account numbers or credit card numbers. You can opt-out of this ad serving on all sites using this advertising and many other advertising platforms by visiting https://optout.aboutads.info/
You can choose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.
Deleting cookies does not mean you are permanently opted out of any advertising program. Unless you have settings that disallow cookies, the next time you visit a site running the advertisements, a new cookie will be added. You can opt-out of advertising from most of the largest advertising networks using the Digital Advertising Alliance’s WebChoices Tool.
Other Third-Party Advertising
We also use other third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Web site. These companies may use aggregated information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices about not having this information used by these companies, click here https://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp
