Doing Disaster Relief Work
It’s tragic whenever a natural disaster occurs. Whether it’s a hurricane like the one that hit the east coast of the United States in 2012, an earthquake and tsunamis like those that struck Japan on March 11, 2011, or the tsunami waves that devastated the coastlines of India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia in 2004. Many NGOs have been established to aid, partly through volunteers, not only in the rehabilitation of the villages along the coastline, but to continue to find temporary housing options for those who have been displaced.
