This week, I have two professional jobs — an engineer and an occupational health nurse — both with Oil and Gas companies. I also have a great summer job at an outdoor adventure program. (If you are looking for a summer job, check out my post from yesterday with the seven essential tips for finding a summer job.)
#1. Fixed Equipment Engineer, Exxon Mobile, Beaumont, Texas
Exxon Mobile is looking to hire a fixed equipment engineer to enhance equipment reliability. The main responsibilities of the job will be to provide technical support for maintenance and operation and to investigate mechanical failures. The person must also develop reliability improvements/upgrade plans for the plant’s mechanical equipment and serve as the training resource for process technicians. The ideal candidate will be a college student with related work experience.
#2. Experienced -Occupational Health Nurse Job, Syncrude, Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada
One of Canada’s leading crude oil producers, Syncrude is poised to double its production within the decade. The company is expanding personnel across the board, including at its Occupational Health Centre team. The occupation health nurse will be responsible for Acute Care and Emergency Response, including providing direct nursing care for work-related and non-work related injuries and illnesses. The person will also be responsible for helping to promote employee health. The job will require 12-hour shifts at one of two Syncrude locations. The ideal candidate will have a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification. He or she must have three to five years nursing experience, preferably in an emergency or primary health care setting and strong clinical assessment skills; and be registered with Alberta Association of Registered Nurses (CARNA).
#3. Outdoor Adventure Staff, Camp Ridgecrest, Ridgecrest, North Carolina
Camp Ridgecrest is an outdoor adventure camp with separate boys and girls programs, located in the mountains of North Carolina. The camp is looking to hire a director and two assistants for its boy’s camp program, as well as a director at the girl’s site. Candidates will ideally be college students or recent college graduates with experience in instructing and facilitating mountain biking, rock climbing, and low ropes course initiatives.
Good luck with your job search!
