Technician Development at Toyota
The company offers a Technician Development (T-Ten) program for people who enjoy working on cars and who are interested in earning an above-average salary. Toyota technicians are in demand, with the company projecting a need for an additional 22,000 trained technicians by 2011.
Students enroll in an accredited training program to receive classroom instruction. They also participate in an internship at a Toyota dealer. This phase of the training gives them the opportunity to practice what they have learned in class in real-world applications. Some interns get hired for full-time positions at the dealerships they work with during this phase of the training.
