Are you a dog lover? What type of dog do you have? If you’re like most dog owners, your trusty four legged companion is your best friend in the world. Dogs stick with you through thick and thin. They love you unconditionally – as long as you feed them and walk them!
Dogs are our constant companions – except when we’re at work. Unless you work from home or are lucky enough to have landed a job with a company that offers a dog friendly workplace, you have to leave your buddy during the work day. But things are changing.
According to FastCompany, nearly 20% of employers have dog friendly policies now. Bringing your dog to work is the ultimate perk and it’s a growing trend. There’s even a day ever summer called National Take Your Dog To Work Day. Be sure to tell you office about that.
There are plenty of benefits to bringing your dog to work (in case you need to convince your boss). Dogs help to:
- Boost employee morale
- Increase office happiness
- Promote more active employees
- Improve co-worker relationships
- Attract customers
- Reduce stress
- Spawn creativity
- Create a more relaxed environment
We found two lists – one from Glassdoor and one from CNBC – of companies that offer dog friendly workplaces. We put them together to compile an even larger list of dog friendly employers. If you’re a dog lover, you might want to apply for jobs with one of these companies:

- Indiegogo
- The Nerdery

Obviously there are plenty of other employers out there that allow you to bring your dog to work. Many of them are small businesses, are outdoor employers, are located in mountain towns, or have a very relaxed company culture. Try to find one that appeals to you.
If you love your dog as much as we do, then find a job with a dog friendly employer. You and your four legged buddy will love it!
